John Craig Marsh

In 1818, a young New York City merchant named John Craig Marsh moved to Louisiana, purchasing a farm on what is now known as Avery Island. Before long, by applying his own ingenuity to an abundance of sugar cane, Marsh was making rum influenced by the Island’s diverse flora and warm sea breezes. Known for superior quality, prized for clean notes and a smooth finish, Marsh’s rum was sold by the barrel and bottle throughout the Gulf South. Two hundred years and six generations later, his descendants give you Marsh House Rum, a fitting tribute to a grand legacy.
